EAST Kilbride’s most celebrated female entrepreneur has set her sights on a new goal – to become a football boss.Michelle Mone OBE revealed that she’d love to support the Scottish game by buying a team – a move that could strike a parallel with the role of TV cook and author Delia Smith at Norwich City FC. The millionaire bra tycoon, from Thorntonhall, was inspired to invest some of her fortune in a team after spending the last three weeks training with SPL stars at Celtic Park. The 38-year-old is being put through her paces by the Parkhead coaching team in preparation for a month-long televised charity trek to the North Pole. Michelle told BBC Radio Scotland’s Off The Ball show: “People say to me ‘Never, ever, ever do it.’ ‘They say it would just be throwing good money after bad. “But I just love football and I would love to get involved. “And after going to Celtic for three weeks training and seeing the facilities and everything, I’m just hooked on it. But I’d have to just say, ‘If it goes wrong, it goes wrong - there you go, it’s gone.” The Ultimo businesswoman, whose lingerie firm MJM International is based in East Kilbride’s Peel Park industrial estate, revealed that her inspiration to tackle the beautiful game comes from the respect she has for strong leaders like Old Firm gaffers Walter Smith, Tony Mowbray, and East Kilbride’s very own Ally McCoist. Michelle also plans to do a photo-shoot in her own lingerie for charity after the Arctic expedition. The mother-of-three was awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list and was recently voted the most powerful woman in British business by Glamour magazine.
